GJC Mentoring

Everything is re-designable - we make choices all the time! It doesn't take much to understand that many mainstream arrangements are often anti-life and are not in our individual, family, community, organisational, regional and ecological interests. That’s why we desire and deeply  need to know that options and alternatives to the status quo do exist.

At Garden Juju Collective we have set up our Mentoring Services to support you to design life-full options and alternatives to what is happening for you right now. Drawing on Bridget and Charlie’s combined 60 years of diverse, continuous and applied design and project creation experiences, over the years we have built up a toolkit of approaches to a wide range of projects, challenges and opportunities. The niche we work is professional, solutioned-based, working with individuals, communities, organisations and small to medium sized businesses.

Our approaches are multi disciplinary, and highly experienced in design, implementation and on-going care of people, projects and places. We weave together expertise in ecological design, regenerative and organic agriculture, permaculture, food justice, rewilding, ecopsychology, and therapeutic horticulture - grounded in deep respect for Indigenous knowledge and a commitment to partnering with traditional land stewards. What gets in the way

It’s vital to all our futures that regenerative projects succeed - but unfortunately they often don't, or they don't for long.

This can be for all sorts of reasons. Here are a few we have encountered over the years - do any of these sound familiar?

• Lack of imagination or vision
• Barriers to taking action
• Finance & resources are unrealistic or short-term

• Lack of project evaluation
• Governance issues
• Lack of mentoring, coaching, or experience

• Narrow disciplinary approach
• Poor, or no, project design 
• Changing people & relationships

It is so important that these kinds of initiatives are successful. When they are not, resources, good will and the energy of great people can feel wasted. Success builds more success. When these projects and initiatives are successful then they become sources of confidence and inspiration for building better futures. 

Change is often not easy (nor is not-changing!). It takes energy, commitment, resources and courage. It can be lonely, confusing, scary, exhausting. Getting a grip on complex reality and then making significant sustained changes is demanding. The rewards are far greater! 

We, Charlie and Bridget, offer our skills and experience through our Mentoring Service for people and projects. We offer experienced support for making life-full projects of all kinds and scales - these are not limited to landscape projects. We offer monthly mentoring conversations in 6 or 12-month packages. Each session will be recorded, with a guiding customized agenda and conversation summaries.
