One-day workshop exploring how we design life-change and Adapt towards our life dreams!
This 1-day face-to-face small group interactive workshop focuses on a range of approaches to design – choices, decisions, planning, choice-making. This can be literally for anything and any aspect of life. Participants will learn and practice a range of tools, creative processes and approaches to designing for life.
These are not times for doing the same things over and over and again. ‘We can live life by default or by design’. 2020 has been a big challenge for many people – disruption, uncertainly, fear and disconnection – heatwaves, drought, bushfires, Covid19, economic, community and personal challenges. These rolling and accumulating disasters and challenges are set to continue into the future.
These times ask us to find and do what is important – to make significant life changes – towards resilience, sustainability, regeneration and healing of community, places and ourselves. How do we navigate our lives as opportunities arise? Responses can be habit, reaction, flight, impulse, addiction, distraction….
…Or design and adaptation.
The workshop will culminate in exploration of the creative process, design game Adapt. Adaptation is the healthy response to changing circumstances. Adapt game stimulates, challenges and guides deep change in lifestyle, communities and the way we live in the world. This new exciting tool encourages, supports and guides us through applying a holistic design process to create the world of our dreams. Through play we ask productive and practical questions that will lead us towards increased care, awareness and implementable solutions.
This workshop will be a mix of ideas, interactive reflective learning and hands-on practical projects. Participants will re-merge after the workshop with step-by-step plans for change. Participants will learn about –
– Designing as a proactive life skill
– A range of design approaches
– Discussions about resilience, sustainability, regeneration, healing
– Becoming clearer about possible responses to our uncertain world
– Using the Adapt game to encourage, stimulate & guide life
